Mission Statement
Founded September 2004, Bay Area Tejanos is a non-profit
organization located in San Jose, California. Bay Area Tejano's acronym is: B.A.T.
MISSION: To Promote Tejano Music throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. PURPOSE: (1) Raise money to establish scholarships/funds for Hispanic students entering college. (2) Provide grants to upcoming Tejano bands (i.e. Sound system, instruments, etc.) (3) Assist community organizations in their non-profit endeavors (i.e. Toys for Tots, etc.) (4) Enhance the Tejano Cultural Arts, primarily through our music. GOAL: To preserve Tejano music, and educate our children through the eyes and voices of musicians who have kept it alive. As long as they play Rancheras, Polkas, Baladas, Cumbias, Guapangos, Boleros, Country, etc. songs, Tejano music will live because Tejano is music of the Heart. |
